Time

Day 1: I woke up today and realized for the first time in my entire life I have complete control over my time.

This is both exhilarating and horrifying.

“I do not have time for that.” “I can’t work on that right now.” “There isn’t enough hours in the day”

The excuse I have used for everything I have never done before is now gone.

I am completely free to do whatever I want. I thought that I understood the value of my time, I knew it was my precious resource, but it was not until today that I reached a true understanding of time and the weight that accompanies how we decide to use it.

How I use my time is truly the most important challenge I face. Every minute wasted jeopardizes not only myself but my family as well.

So how did I spend my first day of this new journey?

I woke up at 3 am and planned out an initial schedule and routine using time blocks. I established some basic priorities to make sure that tomorrow I have made intentional space for everything that I want to accomplish.

When my wife and daughter woke up, I spent the rest of the day with some much-needed family time being fully present and engaged for the first time in a long while. I decompressed, I allowed myself to work through my thoughts surrounding the events of yesterday, and I have moved on and can now focus fully on the future.

Tomorrow I will figure out my real plan for building by setting goals and establishing what it will take to make this all work.
